The internet connection has been off and on recently, so this post will attempt to update everyone with everything that has happened lately. The 4th and final quarter of the school year began today, as did our study of the Scientific Revolution. Grades for the 3rd quarter have been turned in and I'm looking forward to finishing strong this last quarter.
We have been learning a new skill in class to help us better understand the text. We are creating I.V.F. statements which help us:
Identify who/what the portion of text is about
the Verb which the subject is doing
and finally we Finish the statement with the relevant details
When we place the I.V.F statement all together we find we have a concise statement that details larger portions of text and also serve as excellent topic sentences for historical writing assignments. The students are still learning how to do this and we will be practicing it together in class before any homework of this type is given.
